DNA is the second generator in the game. DNA is the key for all life.

Description[]

"A molecule with the unique property of self-replication, DNA's infinite configurations form the foundation of all evolutionary changes. It contains the genetic instructions for all life on Earth."

Design[]

This generator is modeled after a tiny blue strand of DNA. DNA belongs in the Primordial Soup garden, where it floats around freely. Clicking on the DNA prompts metallic sound similar to scraping metal against another.

Upgrades[]

DNA has 5 upgrades, increasing the generator efficiency with a total x24 multiplier.

Icon Name Description Cost Efficiency Requires
DNA Protein Protein The building blocks of living cells, proteins are molecules made from long chains of amino acids. EntropyEntropy 100 100% Amino Acid
DNA
DNA Plasma Membrane Plasma Membrane The plasma membrane protects the interior of cells from the environment. EntropyEntropy 250 100% Protein
DNA Bacterium Bacterium Bacteria are unicellular microorganisms that have cell walls, but none of the organelles that make up multicellular organisms. While some can make you sick, most bacteria are harmless and many are actually necessary for you to survive. EntropyEntropy 700 100% Protein
Plasma Membrane
DNA Chromosomes Chromosomes Chromosomes are DNA molecules containing genetic material. They preserve genomic sequences and allow for traits to be passed from parent to offspring. EntropyEntropy 3.57e6 50% 50 DNA
DNA DNA Replication DNA Replication The basis for biological inheritance, DNA replicates by producing identical copies of existing DNA so that traits can be passed on from one organism to its offspring. EntropyEntropy 3.87e9 100% 100 DNA
RNA

Achievements[]

Icon Name Description Requires
Achievement Dip in the Gene Pool Dip in the Gene Pool DNA, or Deoxyribonucleic Acid, is the blueprint for all living things. It contains the genetic data needed for creatures to reproduce. 25 DNA
Achievement Unzip Your Genes Unzip Your Genes Every human shares about 99% of their DNA with every other human. 50 DNA
Achievement Sex Cells Sex Cells DNA strands come together to form tight coils to create a chromosome; humans have 23 pairs for a total of 46 chromosomes. 100 DNA
Achievement Genetic Engineering Genetic Engineering DNA was first isolated in 1869 when the Swiss Dr. Friedrich Miescher noticed a microscopic substance he named "nuclein" left over in discarded bandages from a patient. 150 DNA
Achievement A Crick in Your Neck A Crick in Your Neck Francis Crick, James Watson and Maurice Wilkins were granted the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their discovery of the double-helix model of DNA. Scientist Rosalind Franklin, who also contributed to the discovery, did not recieve shared credit until 1975. 250 DNA

Trivia[]

  • In the original design of DNA, the color was purple, however, it is now light blue. The original design, however, can still be viewed in its profile description.
    OldDNA

    The old DNA texture.

  • Even though RNA is less complex and most likely came first, DNA is much cheaper than RNA.
  • This used to be the only point in the main line to Singularity that didn't require you to go through each necessary generator in order, you could do DNA and then Amino Acid, due to Nucleotides not requiring Amino Acid.
