Explorations are limited time events which change theme every few days. Like in Primary Simulation, the environment of an exploration event features Generators that produce exploration-specific currencies and several Upgrades. As you progress through the exploration and complete requirements, you will get Logits (which are used in Augmentations Console) and Badges.
The current exploration is Unfold the Universe.

The Exploration Hub gives access to Explorations, it appears in the Primary Simulation.

Duration[]
Currently, explorations typically last for 4 days and 23 hours, though some recent exploration only lasted for 3 days and 23 hours, and A Feline Journey lasted for 6 days and 23 hours on its debut. Explorations currently start at 15:00 UTC and end at 14:00 UTC. For more information, see Exploration history (2022/2023/2024).

Challenge[]
After buying all the upgrades in an event, a button appears on the top of your screen that says Challenge. If you press it, it resets your progress in the event but keeps your Logits, Science and Badges. You will gain Science for entering the challenge and completing objectives. You can repeat it as much as you can.

Badges[]
Badges are rewards that can be achieved by completing requirements in Explorations. Each exploration has 3 badges, and so far 14 different explorations have been introduced, so there are 3*14=42 badges in the game. By completing an Exploration multiple times, additional instances of the badges can be earned. Badges speed up every simulation by 1%, and boost production in the event they belong to by 5, 10 and 15% respectively.
Speed increase from multiple badges or badge instances is additive, rather than multiplicative; e.g. if you have earned a total of 42 badge instances across all Explorations, simulation speed is boosted by x1.42, not x1.52.

Event Leaderboard [BETA][]
In each exploration, you will compete with other players by progressing through the tree and collect Science.
Divisions[]
Divisions are groups of people you'll race against in the event leaderboard. When you join an event, you will be automatically put into a division, depending on which time you joined. It is likely that if you join earlier, the higher division you'll be put into (smaller number). It is also likely that higher divisions like #100, are harder and more competitive than lower divisions like #250. Currently, the number of divisions is unknown, but is expected to be around 400, ranging from #1 to #400. However, there is one special division known as division 666 (#666), which players who cheat will be put into.
Science[]
Science acts like a score for each event, it can be collected from unlocking generators, research nodes, quantum charges, or completing quests in challenge mode.
Rewards[]
At the end of each exploration, you will be granted rewards depending on your ranking on the leaderboard.
- Top 10 - 1 Black Hole, 1 Diamond Geode, 1000 Dark Matter, 1000 Mutagen, and 50 Logits
- Top 25 - 1 Neutron Star, 1 Gold Geode, 400 Dark Matter, 400 Mutagen, and 30 Logits
- Top 50 - 1 Gold Geode, 200 Dark Matter, 200 Mutagen, and 25 Logits
- Top 100 - 100 Dark Matter, 100 Mutagen, and 20 Logits
- Top 250 - 50 Mutagen and 15 Logits
- Top 500 - 10 Logits
- Participant - 5 Logits
