Neptune is the 19th Celestial Body and the 2nd Ice Planet obtained in The Beyond Bubble Universe, which can generate Stardust. (Unlocked at Rank 8, branching off of Uranus)

In-Game Description[]

"Neptune is a cold, dark blue planet nearly 30 times as far from the Sun as Earth. Taking 164.8 years to orbit the Sun, Neptune is the only planet in the solar system not visible from Earth without a telescope. It is the farthest planet from the Sun."

Traits[]

Common[]

  • High Winds (Speed):

"Neptune has a very active weather system, featuring a Great Dark Spot caused by anticyclonic windstorms. The planet has the strongest sustained winds of any planet in our solar system, reaching up to 1,931 kilometers per hour."

  • Methane Blue (Payout):

"While the Earth looks blue from space because of its oceans, Neptune’s cold blue color comes from large amounts of methane in the atmosphere."

Rare[]

  • Ice Giants (Payout):

"Ice giants are made up of elements heavier than hydrogen and helium, the primary components of the gas giants. Beneath the surface is frozen water, ammonia, and methane. But their outer layers are gaseous, making them look like gas giants."

Epic[]

  • Speed of Light (Speed):

"The speed of light is the rate at which light and all massless particles travel through a vacuum. While it can seem instantaneous from up close, over long distances this speed limit becomes very noticeable. The theory of relativity relates to the speed of light."

  • Cosmic Gravity (Payout):

"Gravity is one of the fundamental forces and key to understanding how the universe works. Using Newton’s principles, astronomers can explain how stars and planets form, predict their mass and motion, and infer the existence of dark matter."

  • Goldilocks Zone (Discount):

"The Goldilocks Zone, also called the Habitable Zone, is the region around a star with conditions necessary for a planet that can sustain life. Planets like Earth, with surface water and breathable atmospheres, might be found in these zones in other systems."

Constellations[]

  • Scorpio (1.5x Speed):

"One of the brightest constellations in the sky, Scorpio represents a scorpion. It includes the red star Antares, sometimes called the “heart of the scorpion” because of its placement and color."

  • Leo (2x Speed):

"Shaped like a crouching lion, the constellation Leo is easy to find in the night sky because of its many bright stars. Wolf 359, one of the closest stars to Earth, is located in Leo."

Astronomy Mission[]

Neptune's Astronomy Mission is its second-largest moon, Proteus.

Satellites[]

Neptune has a total of 16 natural satellites Of these 16, two are present in the game. These include the possible dwarf planet Triton, and Proteus. Additionally, Neptune also has a ring system. The ring system is not present in the game.

Proteus[]

"Neptune's second-largest moon is named after a shape-shifting Greek god of the sea. It is believed that Triton and Proteus were both captured by Neptune's gravity and did not form at the same time as the planet."

Proteus

Achievements[]

Achievement Neptune
  • Lonely Planet (Rank 5):

"Only one spacecraft has ever done a fly-by mission of Neptune: NASA’s Voyager 2 probe. It visited the planet in 1989 and took photos of the planet’s surface storms and rings."

  • A Real Icebreaker (Rank 8):

"Neptune’s gravitational pull is more like Earth’s than any other planet in the solar system. But there’s no solid ground—if you tried to stand on Neptune, you’d drop through layers of gas and hot, slushy liquid before reaching the small, rocky core."
