Within the new BETA the developer of Cell to Singularity currently testing a new Player Progressing System.
Different aspects of playing game (Achievements, MetaBits earned, etc.) will earn you Research Points (RP).
As you gain RP you will achieve new tiers and tier levels. All players begin at 0 RP as a Nerd 1, from there leveling up to Nerd 2, 3 and all the way up to 10, after which you can finally graduate to the next tier, Student 1.
