Detached Orbit Sedna’s orbit has a perihelion that is extremely far from the Sun. This leads some scientists to believe that it may have collided with another large celestial body at one point. This object may have been Planet X. Rank 13
Sednoid Far-off celestial objects like Sedna orbiting beyond Neptune formed around the same time as the inner solar system. These mysterious planetoids could provide insight into the solar system’s beginnings. Rank 14

Achievements[]

Out of This World Sedna technically lies in interstellar space, past the heliopause. But since it’s still gravitationally bound to our sun, it’s not usually referred to as an interstellar object. Sedna Rank 5
Long Distance Relationship In 2076, Sedna will reach its perihelion—the closest point to the sun in its 12,000 year orbit. Even at this distance, it would still take a probe from Earth 25 years to reach the dwarf planet. Sedna Rank 8
