Semblance is the artificial intelligence running the universal simulation alongside the player. When actively speaking to the player, she uses a feminine voice for direct verbal communication. As the player progresses throughout the game, Semblance will give feedback on certain game information, as well as comment on player milestones when they have been achieved.
After the game opens up, the player will gain access to the Data Log, in which Semblance's quotes from cutscenes and other areas of the game can be reviewed. Semblance also gives access to the Terminus Chamber, where all the player's milestones, in terms of game progression, are stored. She uses the Reality Engine to simulate worlds where different theories and mathematical assumptions were true and research on what happens.
