Sharks are unlocked as the trophy for completing a cycle of the Daily Mutation. A new species of shark unlocks every 7 days that the player logs into the game, with six species in total to collect. Sharks affect fish production, but are not very helpful, as in the time needed to get even one shark, valuable pre-Singularity generators such as the Cyborg or Snake have already replaced the entropy niche.
Design[]
The sharks show up in the ocean garden view, where they swim around the environment and eat fish, with blood trailing behind them as they do so. This "fish hunt" is only visual and does not affect Entropy production.
All of the sharks are completely silent.
Leopard Shark[]
The Leopard Shark (Triakis semifasciata) resembles a brown leopard shark, and swims on the outer edge of the invisible sphere wall where the Jellyfish, Flatworm, and Fish swim around. It doesn't swim as far as the dolphins (Cetaceans) or the Megalodon, and it doesn't eat any fish. They are one of smallest sharks in the game, and the size is comparable to that of a Flatworm.
Tiger Shark[]
The Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo cuvier) resembles a tiger shark. Since it has no patterns, this could be suggested that it is a very elderly shark. It frequently delves into the invisible sphere wall to hunt fish.
Whale Shark[]
The Whale Shark (Rhincodon typus) resembles a whale shark. It moves extremely slowly, and swims closer to the invisible sphere wall than the Leopard Shark. It is slightly smaller in-game than in real life, which could mean that it is a juvenile. It doesn't eat any fish.
Great White[]
The Great White (Carcharodon carcharias) resembles a great white shark. It swims through the invisible sphere wall just like the Tiger Shark and hunts down some fish. Its size is close to the Whale Shark, but smaller.
Hammerhead[]
The Hammerhead (Family Sphyrnidae) resembles a bonnethead hammerhead shark. It has the distinctive T-shaped head and swipes through the invisible sphere wall for fish. Its size is comparable to the Great White.
Megalodon[]
The Megalodon (Otodus megalodon) resembles what we think a megalodon looks like. It is very large, about twice the size of a dolphin (much higher proportions in real life). Despite its carnivorous nature, it doesn't hunt fish; instead, it swims around the invisible sphere wall at a far distance, the furthest away from it, further than the dolphins (Cetaceans).
Trophy Upgrades[]
In order of appearance through the Daily Mutation 7 Day Reward Calendar:
Name | Effects | Description | Cost | Requirements |
---|---|---|---|---|
Leopard Shark | Fish 300% more efficient. | Leopard Sharks are so named because of their distinctive pattern of spots and stripes. They live in coastal regions and pose no threat to humans, who often hunt them for their meat. | N/A | Logging in for 7 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
Tiger Shark | Fish 900% more efficient. | The distinctive stripes of a Tiger Shark, the source of its name, are most prominent in juveniles and fade as the fish matures. They are solitary nocturnal hunters, and are known to eat almost anything, including human-made garbage. | N/A | Logging in for 14 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
Whale Shark | Fish 500% more efficient. | The Whale Shark is the largest known fish in the world, growing up to 18.8 meters long. It is a gentle giant, feeding mostly on plankton and small fish, and juveniles of the species have been known to swim peacefully with human divers. | N/A | Logging in for 21 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
Great White | Fish 1700% more efficient. | The most famous species of shark, Great Whites are the largest predatory fish in the oceans and can grow to up to 6 meters long. They are known to sometimes attack humans, but prefer to eat dolphins, whales, and seals, and have a bite force of 4,095 lbf. | N/A | Logging in for 28 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
Hammerhead | Fish 3200% more efficient. | Hammerhead sharks are known for their flat, horizontally-shaped heads. This distinctive trait gives them a wider range of view, allowing them to scope out the seas for their prey. They are a protected species. | N/A | Logging in for 35 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
Megalodon | Fish 10000% more efficient. | Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived from 23—6.5 million years ago. While its exact size remains unknown, estimates place its length at up to 18 meters long, and it is widely regarded as one of the largest and most deadly predators in history. | N/A | Logging in for 42 days Replaceable Teeth Shark |
